Francesca Cull

Cello

Francesca attended Chetham’s School of Music where she won numerous awards throughout her studies including the Arthur Kolbert Prize for Outstanding Cello Playing. Joining at the age of 10 she studied with Barbara Grunthal (Manchester Camerata) and David Smith (Alberni Quartet). She subsequently studied with Josephine Knight (Piatti Chair of Cello) at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating with first class honours and received The Joyce Anne Beckett Award.

Orchestra credits: The Hallé, Opera North, English National Opera, Royal Ballet Sinfonia and Scottish Opera (guest principal). She has been invited to play as a soloist, chamber and orchestral player in many countries across Europe including Norway, France, Italy and Germany.

Notable credits: St James’s Piccadilly, Wigmore Hall, London Sinfonietta at the Royal Festival Hall with Pascal Rophé, James Newton Howard’s 3 Decades of Music for Hollywood (Royal Albert Hall).

Theatre credits: Les Misérables; My Fair Lady (West End/Tour).
